Meeting Information:
We will meet you and your group at the take out. Typically this is at Helfrich Boat Landing. At least one vehicle is left at the take out.
When we arrive at the boat launch, guides will unload boats and gear. This is a good time for customers to put on sunscreen, use the facilities, put stuff they do not need in their cars, get lanyards for their eyeglasses (croakies), and change out of their cotton clothes.
Provided by Freeman River Sports:
• Personal flotation devices (required)
• Helmets (available)
• Croakies (available for purchase $2 pair)
• River gear such as splash tops, splash pants, wet suits, booties – depending on needs and weather.
• Shared dry bag on each boat for personal items (wallets, keys, cell phones).
• Water, juice and/or sodas.
• Sorry no alcohol allowed on the water.
Guests Bring:
Synthetic swim shorts (or trunks), sandals that attach with straps (no flip flops), no cotton clothes!
Tip: Synthetic clothes dry quickly and wick moisture away from your skin, while cotton clothes do not.
Other items: camera (can put in dry bag), towel, change of clothes for end of the day, sunglasses, croakies, sunscreen, lip balm.
Plan:
Life jackets (or PFDs) are required on the river. We will make sure each person is fitted with a lifejacket and other gear needed for that particular day on the water. After the safety talk, group photo and boat assignments, groups enter boats, get situated and start paddling. Boat captains will go through a few common strokes (all ahead, right forward, left forward) and other common commands. We guarantee that you will get wet – it is up to you how wet you get! We will stop at several spots to play and relax along the way. Water cannons available on each boat and are used at the clients’ discretion.
